“I love it” is the resounding conclusion of the Toshiba Equium delivered on YouTube by 1234BlueBoy, albeit just a small clip of his 19 minute long, 2 part comparison of the Equium and his pal’s MacBook Air.

Focussing heavily on what he sees as a very reasonable pricepoint of the device, and all the features packed in to his Equium, it’s fair to say that he rates this notebook very highly. Take a look at the video below, and then follow this link for part 2 of his comparative review.

Toshiba’s Puma-equipped hasn’t left the floor of Computex and WOM is spreading across the web like wildfire. Engadget have a brief summary slapped up upon their shiny pages thanks to the pals of ours at notebookreview.com, and machinesthatgobing.com have, as ever, provided a hugely comprehensive and fascinating post on the launch – complete with promotional fim!

AMD claims that the integrated graphics processors deliver up to three times the graphics performance when processing 3D environments compared to its rivals – so keep an eye out for this one dropping onto the shelves.

Vielleicht habt ihr ja schon das Interview von Ryan von mightygadget.com gesehen oder mal auf seinen Blog geschaut, jetzt hat er sein Versprechen war gemacht und noch viel mehr zum „Take A Closer Look“ Event geschrieben, zu dem wir ihn eingeladen hatten. Und wenn ich viel mehr sage dann meine ich auch VIEL mehr und das war anscheinend nur der erste Teil, der Zweite wird noch folgen.

Lass euch bitte nicht von der Länge des Artikels abschrecken, er schreibt -wie ich finde- auf er eine sehr unterhaltsame aber trotzdem fundierte Weise über die Evolution des Laptops und die ersten Tage auf dem Event. Wer das Interview gesehen hat weiß bestimmt das Ryan eher Englisch als Deutsch spricht, aber die Mühe lohnt sich. (Wenn ihr gar nicht klar kommt helfe ich auch gerne mit dem Übersetzten)

“Toshiba have drafted in some of the world’s top designers and engineers to redress this situation and are attempting to make PC laptops a more desirable accessory rather than just a plain-Jane necessity” says Ryan of mightygadget.com in his first post about the Toshiba Take a Closer Look event - and plenty more besides.

You see Ryan has written an epic stream of consciousness tale not only of what happened at the beginnings of the event itself, but his thoughts on the evolution of laptops, what they say about the individual and exactly what happened in Paris those hazy couple of days. Remember when laptops were first unleashed to the public? Ryan does – “They were hideous, they weighed more than a home PC, if you used it as marketed, on your lap, it was strongly suggested that if you were male not to bother as those things we all cherish as men would disagree and possibly drop off.”

Part 2 is still to come, but I strongly suggest that anyone looking for an amusing passage or two on the future of laptop design, and more specifically the place of Toshiba in these plans, should pop over here.

Sie werden nur in Frankreich verfügbar sein – sind aber Ideal für alle Dalmatiner Liebhaber, Street-Art Freunde und natürlich alle die sich einfach vom Rest abheben wollen.

Oh la la! More extravagant designs have just been uncovered at the ‘Take a Closer Look’ event in Paris, with these limited-edition Satellite P300’s popping up. Designed by the likes of jaw-droppingly cool innovators Agnes B, Superkitsch and Ajun Park, they will only be available in France – but ideal for Dalmatian lovers and urban art fans - amongst others who just like to look hip on the train.

Mit soviel Diskussionen über Style und Design, lag es Nahe, dass Toshiba “Take a Closer Look” nutzte um ihren neusten Laptop zu veröffentlichen. Der ‘ Portégé M800 ‘ – von den technischen Daten dem Satellite U400 sehr ähnlich, aber mit ein ‚Style to Go’ –also sehr handlich.

Das Display erscheint trotz der Helligkeit nicht glänzend, sondern leuchtet eher in einem kühlen Weiß. Dieses Model wurde durch die Automobilindustrie inspiriert und mit den aktuellsten Trends im Hinterkopf entworfen - besonders an der Vorliebe für die Farbe Weiß ist die Autoindustrie gut wieder zuerkennen.

Die Markteinführung wird im Juni erwartet, zuerst in Frankreich bevor es dann im Juli in den anderen Regionen angeboten wird. Das Toshiba Portégé M800 soll für etwa 1199 Euro in den Handel kommen, je nach gebietstypischen Ausstattungsmerkmalen. Zu Beginn wird es auf der Santa Rosa Plattform angeboten.

With so much discussion about style and design, it seems fitting that Toshiba have chosen ‘Take a Closer Look’ to launch their latest laptop – the Portégé M800 – a product similar in spec to the Satellite U400, but with style to go.

With all the lights not so much shining, as bathed in a cool white backlit glow, this particular model has been inspired by the automotive industry, and is designed with recent trends in mind – most notably the penchant for the colour white in aforementioned market sector.

Expected to launch in June, first in France before being rolled out to other regions in July, the Toshiba Portégé M800 is expected to retail for around 1,199 Euros, depending on the configuration of the territory. To start with it will be offered on the Santa Rosa platform.
